My name is John Kavanagh. I have been a photographer for over forty years, mainly freelance but have also been employed by several photographic companies including Kodak. Although photography has been something of a side-line in many ways, it has always constituted a major driving force in my life. I am now at a stage in life when I can indulge my passion for photography on a full time basis. My particular interests in photography are very varied - although my primary work is photographing people, and particularly candid or street photography which I will be doing much more of in the future. As can be seen from this gallery, there is not much in life that I am not interested in capturing with a camera. Portrait and wedding photography are a necessary part of paying for my passion, however these remain as very distinctive and unique projects. I do not want to work to standardised formulae, and instead hope that my images will capture something very personal from each commission. My blog is very much about photography in my daily life, and the people around me. It may give you some insight into the workings of a troubled mind!
